Anne Lindsay

We were so happy to have Anne back for a second visit to our stage, and very lucky she could fit us in to her busy schedule. Accompanied by the up-and-coming artist Charlie James, Anne took us on a world tour of stinged instruments and the tunes they can generate. Between the two performers there were 7 instruments on stage so no two songs had the same sound. Anne's haunting jazz vocals were a lovely addition to the evening. We were glad to be a part of the album release tour for Hurry on Home.

Matthew Barber

This young performer really brought the place to life on a cold winter night. Matthew's ability to bounce around the genres from Folk to Blues to Rock really kept the show moving. Also he added in a few tunes on the keyboards as well as his guitar allowing us to enjoy his great skills on this instrument. Matthew brings a broad understanding of the human condition to his songs which he communicates in a penetrating vocal. This is a talent to watch.

Kirsten Jones

The lovely Kirsten Jones charmed the audience at Stonecroft on her return to our stage. Her honest enthusiasm for the audience makes everyone feel you are actually enjoying an evening visit with friends. Each of her songs reveals an interesting reflection on the human condition. Kirsten's crystal pure voice warms the room and the audience went home humming her new album Mad Mile.

Dave Gunning

Stonecroft Folk once again transformed into a real kitchen party. Dave is an excellent storyteller and the audience was charmed by his easygoing nature. His songs have a ring of truth which make you want to sit down and have a cup of tea with the people you meet within them. Jeff Wiseman was an excellent back up musician and had some of the audience in tears with his rendition of Danny Boy. The audience had a chance to join in a few traditional songs and a few new ones Dave taught us that night. We were sold out this night and if you missed it let this be a lesson to call earlier the next time.

The Marigolds

This was an evening of pure music. These three outstanding female performers have perfect vocal harmony and an obvious respect for each other.

They are so willing to share their talents with us and share the spotlight with each other that the evening was a pure joy. Material covered a wide spectrum genres from Jazz to Country to Pop. The audience tapped their toes and joined in on a few songs and generally had a fine old time.

Poor Angus

Poor Angus arrived at Stonecroft Folk ready for a party and we sure had one. They made good use of an excellent sound system to make sure everyone had a good time. Of course the bagpipes didn’t require any amplification! There were lots of familiar tunes including traditional songs, the Good Bros and Spirit of the West. Brian, Ross and Scott shared duties of lead vocalist, which added lots of variety to the show. We will all look forward to enjoying Poor Angus at the Canterbury Folk Festival in Ingersoll this summer. As several people commented, “There is nothing poor about these guys.“
